Stayed in well furnished Norm’s Studio. Kitchen and bathroom are very clean and efficient. Noticed some new upgrades from a couple of years ago. You can tell the owners care a great deal about their guests and the impressions they are left with.

Perfect for birders, artists, and history buffs, Valle Verde is a Tucson Audubon Society “Cardinal Level” backyard birding hotspot. From vermilion flycatchers to migrating warblers and the occasional hawk overhead, the birdwatching here is top-tier.
Walk right from your casita to the Anza Trail and head north into Tubac’s galleries and restaurants or south toward the mission ruins of Tumacácori. Wherever you go, the magic of the Sonoran Desert is all around you.

This lovingly preserved 1938 adobe ranch offers Old World charm, peace, and privacy across six mesquite-filled acres—perfect for artists, birders, historians, and anyone seeking a soulful desert escape.
Relax on one of the shady patios, take a walk beneath the cottonwoods, or explore Tubac’s blend of Spanish, Mexican, and Indigenous heritage. When the sun’s high, cool off in our seasonal pool, or soak under the stars in the outdoor hot tub—a favorite for unwinding after a day of adventure.
Each guest unit includes a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee station. The Casita and Norm’s Studio offer cooking areas, and all units include hair dryers and internet access. You won’t find TVs here—we encourage you to unplug, reconnect with nature, or enjoy a good book.

With benches tucked throughout and a tree “loft” overlooking the canopy, it’s a perfect spot to journal, paint, or simply let your mind wander. The bosque also hosts Lucy’s Warbler nest boxes as part of a Tucson Audubon Society study—ideal for nature sketching or birdwatching with binoculars in hand.

We stayed 2 nights in the casita and quilt room. We were greeted on arrival and made to feel welcomed. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The location of the ranch is great for access to the Anza Trail and town. There are plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the scenery (we saw Javelinas!)
This place is special! It is easily the nicest place we have stayed! The Casita is the perfect size and beautifully decorated. I was so excited to see a bathtub! You can walk to town or go for a longer hike on the historic Anza Trail. The hosts know how to make you feel at home!
I spent a relaxing five days in Norms studio and then moved into the ranch house for my last day of my stay. The setting of the ranch is so peaceful: boarding on the Anza trail; walking distance to the historic town of Tubac; and the lovely pool and patio. The ranch house is stunning with all of its historic pieces throughout and lovely areas to sit and relax watching the birds, providing everything a guest could wish for. The hosts were also very helpful and informative on the area. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation.
